Store/About
A storefront with a reading list, not a warehouse
Yaboost sells a few dozen independent games. Someone here has finished every one of them before it went on sale, which is the entire editorial policy and most of the business plan.
How this started
In 2021 four of us were running a small games mailing list out of a shared inbox. The list worked: a few thousand people read it, and the studios we wrote about noticed the spike. What did not work was the part where we sent readers off to storefronts that buried the game two screens deep under things it was not.
So we built the shop we had been linking to. The first version sold three games and took payments through a form that a friend of a friend wrote over a weekend. It is not dramatically more complicated now; there are simply more games and fewer friends of friends involved in the payment path.
For studios
We take 12% of the sale price and pay out on the first working day of each month with a full ledger: units, refunds, VAT by jurisdiction, and the exact fee the payment processor charged. No minimum payout, no threshold, no holding period beyond the refund window.
Submission is a build and a paragraph to studios@games.yaboost.org. We play the whole game. That takes time, so expect three weeks, and expect an actual reason if the answer is no. We say no to most things, which is what makes the yes worth anything.
What we will not do
- Sell a game we have not finished.
- Run a launcher, a background service or an overlay.
- Put a countdown timer on a price.
- Sell the catalogue's browsing data to anybody, for any amount.
- Take a cut above 12%, whatever the volume.

Where we are
Registered in Tallinn, with people working from five countries and no office worth putting on a map. Post reaches us at the registered address; email reaches us faster.
Working here
We hire roughly once a year and always publish the role here first. Right now there is nothing open. When there is, it will say so on this page before it says so anywhere else.
